Keep your eye on that little Hole
Stop watching your own photos and keep concentrating on the game. Well that’s what Joe McNally says and also what i told a lot of young people starting of in photograpy and specially action photography.
Well i got some of my own medicine on Friday 1 May when the Cheetahs played the Waratahs in a Super 14 clash in Bloemfontein.
Johan Pretorius took this photo of me watching the game on my 2.5″ screen at the back of my Nikon D3. Maybe the bigscreen on the other side of the field would have been a much better option where i could have got a view at 25 frames a sec where on my D3 it was set at only 8 frames per sec. By the way, i always tell the young photographers not to use their motodrives but rather concentrate on the shot they want and shoot it on single frame.
Well luckily i got away with a lot of nice shots to justify all of this. You are more than welcome to go to www.supermedia.co.za where there are 75 more photos of the game you can watch. Here is one of Wycliff Palu, Eigthman of the Waratahs, tackled by Heinrich Brussow, Flank Forward of the Cheetahs. As seen on the above photo i used the 400mm F2.8 lens and the Nikon D3 body.
Till next time
